QUALITY NOTES FOR ANDOVER CORPORATION SUPPLIERS

ANDQA-1 (Test Specimen Required)
The supplier shall provide One (1) test specimen to Andover Corporation. The test specimen shall come from the same manufacturing lot as the supplied parts.
ANDQA-2 (First Article Inspection Required)
A First Article Inspection (FAI) shall be carried out by the supplier at their facility that verifies all specifications dictated on the purchase order and/or referenced specifications. The results of the inspections or tests are to be recorded in a First Article Inspection Report and supplied to Andover Corporation with the tested part.
Andover Corporation shall be notified five (5) days prior to the inspection and given the opportunity to witness the FAI. Andover Corporation reserves the right to confirm the conformity of the supplier’s FAI report using in-house measurement or third-party verification.
Andover must give written approval of the FAI prior to the start of production.
ANDQA-3 (Certificate of Compliance Required)
Each shipment from the supplier’s facility must include a Certificate of Compliance, which shall include the following information at minimum:
- Supplier Part Number
- Andover Corporation Part Number
- Andover Corporation P.O. Number
- Manufacturing Lot ID
- Quantity certified
- Date of certification
- Signature of person verifying conformity
The Certificate of Conformance MUST indicate conformance to all applicable item specifications and requirements referenced on the identified purchase order.
ANDQA-4 (Test Reports Required)
The supplier shall submit to Andover Corporation a complete copy of all test and inspection results that verify the specifications defined in the purchase order. All reports shall be confirmed by the initials of an authorized person and delivered with each batch shipped.
If the specifications contain variable values with tolerances, the test report shall contain the actual values and the tolerances. Any ID/traceability data (manufacturing batch, serial number of the material tested etc.) shall also be contained in the test report. If specific statistical techniques are required by Andover Corporation for testing, they shall be referenced on the purchase order and/or provided as an attachment.
ANDQA-5 (Source Inspection Required)
Source inspection must be conducted at the supplier facility prior to shipment. When the items are ready for inspection, the supplier shall notify the Andover Corporation three (3) working days prior to the date on which the parts will be ready for source inspection. All non-conforming material or parts shall be properly segregated from the acceptable material or parts presented for source inspection. Drawings and/or other pertinent data as required by purchase order must be available at the time the product is presented. Acceptance at source does not relieve the supplier from responsibility for the quality of delivered product.
ANDQA-6 (Traceability Required)
This purchase order requires traceability so that all items can be traced to the history, application, use and location of the individual item, or characteristic lot of an item, through the systematic assignment, recording, and correlation of a control identification number (lot number, melt number, etc.)
All items within the lot and all associated documentation (test reports, certifications, etc.) are to be identified with the assigned traceability number. Unless otherwise specified, all suppliers' traceability identification shall be traceable to the Andover Corporation purchase order. Traceability records shall be maintained indefinitely.
ANDQA-7 (AS 9100 Certification Required)
The supplier’s quality system is required to be certified in conformance to
AS 9100D quality system requirements. The certification must be issued by an accredited third party registrar and in good standing during the life of the purchase order.
ANDQA-8 (ISO 9001 Certification Required)
The supplier’s quality system is required to be certified in conformance to ISO 9001:2015 quality system requirements. The certification must be issued by an accredited third party registrar and in good standing during the life of the purchase order.
ANDQA-9 (Material Certification)
Each shipment must be accompanied by one (1) copy of the Material Certification stating, at minimum, the Andover Corporation purchase order number, material type/grade and batch identification.
