BANDPASS FILTER TYPES

Filter Type 1- Single Cavity Filter

This is also known as a single-cavity filter. It is characterized by an extremely narrow peak and gradual sideband slopes.

Optical Bandpass Filter Type 1

Filter Type 2- Two-Cavity Filter

This is also known as a two-cavity filter. It is characterized by a rounded peak.

Optical Bandpass Filter Type 2

Filter Type 3- Three-Cavity Filter

This is also known as a three-cavity filter. It is characterized by a square peak and fairly steep sideband slopes.

Optical Bandpass Filter Type 3

Filter Type 4- Four- Cavity Filter

This is also known as a four-cavity filter. It is characterized by very steep sideband slopes and a square but wavy peak.

Optical Bandpass Filter Type 4

Filter Type 5- Five Cavity Filter

This is also known as a five-cavity filter. It is characterized by very steep sideband slopes and a square but wavy peak.

Optical Bandpass Filter Type 5

Filter Type 6- Spike Filter

This is the same bandshape as a filter type 2 but does not include any additional out-of-band blocking. It is also referred to as a "spike" filter.
